Loving yourself is the first step to happiness...

Self-Love Meditation
Notes from Billy Meier’s book,
If the Human Being wants to become Happy and Satisfied

Self-love is one of the most misinterpreted concepts in philosophy, psychology and in general among people. Self-love is usually attributed to flattery, vanity, self-centeredness, egocentrism and narcissism but in truth, it has nothing to do with any of these.

In his book, If a Human Being wants to be happy and satisfied, Billy Meier writes that rather than equating it with a self-centered perspective, self-love should be exclusively connected to good and positive values which are loved and appreciated in actions and deeds founded in honesty, righteousness and dignity.  Self-love is about expressing yourself as a true human who is conscious in character, personality, behavior and who experiences these values through your thoughts, feelings and actions. The following meditation guides you through a process of remembering your good deeds founded in these values and may elucidate your understanding of self-love.

Billy teaches that self-love can be learned through meditation. The meditation below elucidates the true meaning of self-love.

Self-Love Meditation

In the evening time, about one hour after dinner, when it is already dusk or dark, it is good to spend some time with yourself to perform a Self-Love Meditation.

• Light a candle, turn off the light, sit down and be comfortable.
• Let your thoughts and feelings meditatively wander through all the beauty in your present life and from your past.
• Remember the experiences from the good and positive events of your life.
• How did it feel when you were living your life from an honest, righteous and dignified way?
• Give yourself this attention feeling joy in your accomplishments of good and loving thoughts. Allow the good feelings to flow through you and feel them.
• Re-live the beautiful memories with good and loving thoughts and feelings.
• While doing this, notice what especially you like in yourself personally and what is shown in your memories. Remember these moments with joy, love and celebrate it for yourself as something special.
• This may initially appear silly or ridiculous to you. But realize that this memory-based, self-attentiveness corresponds to your own care. It helps you to build and maintain self-love in yourself and hold yourself in high esteem for a happy and satisfied life.
